Family and Consumer Sciences Program
The Family and Consumer Sciences program at TSB covers four areas of concentration. Activities of Daily Living is a non-graded course that focuses on those skills necessary for functioning on a daily basis. 
Basic kitchen skills, basic housekeeping tasks, care of clothing and dressing skills, and personal/social development are the primary objectives. Family and Consumer Science I, Child Development and Adult Living are the high school elective courses which give students the opportunity to earn one high school credit. FCS I has units in food preparation, table setting and etiquette, consumer education, sewing, and babysitting. The Child Development curriculum spans concepts from prenatal development to birth and the pre-school child. Adult Living helps high school seniors prepare for the "real world" by focusing on skills needed for living independently. Meal planning and preparation, responsibility for self, managing time, money and energy, as well as caring for an apartment are all skills used as these students live in a semi-independent living apartment during the second semester of their senior year.
Technology Education Lab
The technology curriculum is a dynamic, hands-on program of study that teaches students about the development and applications of technology and the effects technology has on individuals, society, and the environment. Our goal is to create excitement, amazement, and thrill that is shared by others who work with technology on a daily basis.
To meet this goal a new lab has been developed. The entire curriculum is computer-driven with activities and lessons that allow the student to explore the three main areas of study: Communication, Transportation, and Production
Work Study Program
The on-campus work study program is funded by the Lion's Club of Tennessee. The program is designed to introduce visually impaired students to various work opportunities. The students can select areas of interest such as; food service, administrative services, procurement, custodial, and educational assistance. This program provides the students opportunities to transition from the work study program to off-campus employment and then into full time occupations after graduation.
Employment Program
The school adopted a program in August, 2001 that assists visually impaired students transition from school to the workforce. The program instructs students in job skills, resume' writing, employment interviews, financial management, and professional development. The transition teacher collaborates with employers and vocational rehabilitation counselors in placing students in all facets of employment ranging from food service, customer service, business administration, factory, and vending operations.
