Presented by Dr. Tammy Parsons (TSB) on 1/21/2021 Unity Virtual Academy 2020-2021 Session Description: Dr. Tammy Parsons will discuss several ideas that came directly from addressing the accessibility needs of her students during virtual and concurrent math instruction. Topics such as assistive tech, Duxbury, and various online tools will covered.

computer alright think we're up and running so like I said just before welcome everybody to this training session that's part of the Tennessee Vision cancer which is a really new you know initiative going on in our state another title of sorts for this for this overarching title for this training Series has the universal Academy just making up for the fact that the Tennessee School for the Blind Unity conference was not able to be held this year back in around Thanksgiving and so we've been putting on a whole lot of events like this one and we we look forward to having as much as we can about 2 months as far as long as we can keep it up and at least something going on every month so look for more information about this coming from either doctor who runs the resource center for the visually impaired here in the state of Tennessee she sends out information to all the special of directors and vision teachers around the state police also if you're connected with Tennessee a yard I am the current president of the chapter dr. Parsons who's giving today's presentation is also a member and we are really excited to be sharing our our expertise our knowledge and resources with you guys too I really feel like you can do you know the little bits of your job on a daily basis that you know these days can feel a little bit extra extra challenging and so I will leave it like that time today session specifically is is titled tips and tricks for virtual math instruction when teachers Journey with Braylon low vision Learners on as being given by a doctor Tammy Parsons and actually right before I get started let me tell you all that the opening code for today session if you need credits is count count in the type that in the chat okay and at the end I will have an engine code for the and a link that you can follow to request to input those codes and request credit and a certificate of your attendance this session is being recorded as you can tell and we're still working through the Kinks of how to hostos and have those accessible after the fact that those will be made available a hopefully in the near-term but without further Ado really pleased to be hands-off to doctor Parson colleague of mine at 10 please go ahead and I'm just doing screen share and share Anan are we going to go in and as we go feel free to speak up is only a few of us Ducks Parsons awesome very flexible but also if you want to discreetly put in the comments I'll be monitoring that for or us and I'll stop her and so we will you're the only person that I am I'm not familiar with what district I'm in Shelby County Schools terrific but I only teach high school kids so well this is all about my school if this works out so I know you're with the others on there so you can be a person that I do teach you're at the eval instead opening code is count so just a real quick real quick ever be proud of who I am I've got degree to teaching Adnan mass and vision in that order I've been teaching for 20 years prior to getting my vision degree so education was was my jam I love I love teaching and as I was with Metro Nashville Public Schools for 20 years and I worked as a teacher coach and an Administration and in my twenty years I only have one student with a vision of an IP for vision and that soon actually now works at tsv at one of our conscious but I think knowing what I know now there would have been other students that I would have referred for Vision Services I just I feel like I know that there would have been worth your TSB right now and I can't even knowing very little about instructing students of vision but I knew content and I need instruction and I put down there ask ask ask I'm going to ask a thousand times until I figure it out and sometimes that's asking from adults but I've learned has asking for my kids as well sometimes they know more than I do about what's going on and pretty much everything that I am sharing came from necessity and some of it right at the moment I spoken to Rachel the first few minutes of this and just I could put I put this presentation together I started it about 2 months ago when I was asked and I'm continually adding to it because there are new things I'm learning how to do so and what I'm doing now is when the hot things I've done it all of my pans and Metro and see if they see this is one of the hardest things I've ever done this also just really quickly we start my spirits has started with concurrent we did have some students who chose to go online from the beginning and we had students who were here at school so I am one particular classroom I had to since you were online when was Braille working on apex in the air Low Vision Learning Braille and then I had three that were in person one of those is umbrella into a vision but the same issues did arise the need didn't arise because I had a chance to give them what they need a ride to school the issue came and I had up to six students at one time all kinds of learning needs access needs instructional needs so that all of this came from going 100%. I want talk about it we're still in Virtual now but my biggest oh I'm in trouble came from when I got a call in Wednesday night September 16th sang a doctor person's you're ready quarantine for the next 2 weeks I didn't have access to anything that I needed I didn't have teacher materials I didn't have Duxbury my kids didn't have their book I didn't have an embosser my kids live across the state I was not sure what I was going to do to me spider we were virtual again back away can't wait and we've been working now for multiple week so at this point I got my groove hopefully so everything that I'm sharing with you is what I have learned that September 18th it is being a dramatic shift in what I'm doing so this I'm going to give my two toes to Allen on this one what if I have three or had three Apex users I'm I was too right now but this was a game-changer in accessing for my students of who my broken to use the Apex down at the bottom of this that dust a student explanation video well that's funny because we work going to have a student record it showing we just can't we can't get student here to be able to do that we have so much in flux but I knew like with guided notes and things like that I can give my students hard copies on ducks. I hate but that doesn't work then they live across the state so I ended up with Alex help and with the help of you know just just trying to figure out how this out if I were to create a Duxbury file and save it brf file I can email it to the student the student would put it on their laptop just flash drive to their laptop they will go from the flash drive to their Apex they would do the work they were put to work for their Apex back on the flash send it to me an email and then I could open it as a Word document it was a game-changer I'm very fortunate because my particular students that I work with that are Apex users are very proficient and they are students that I can ask to do something or teach them to do something and we're pretty sure it's going to turn out like that when I give it to you but with Ian Allen probably 3 days maybe they became fairly proficient in being able to do this and they do it all the time out the nice thing about it is this is how the work comes to me I'm able to see it in a Word document form and actually look at the information I can give the feedback I can see if you know the the coating is is the right way that they're doing it so this is a particular geometry student but I have an algebra steam that's doing it as well but it has is changed his change what I'm doing traditionally I use the DNC viewer to be able to see their work to give that immediate feedback during class and in this case wasn't able to do that now I will say here's my next steps album listen up so here's what I'm going to do next okay so I want the student to download V and see if you are on to their laptop screen share with me so I can see their work in real time that's my thought process I don't know what it looks like yet but that's what I'm looking to do because I'm having a hard time giving them back real-time feedback about making Corrections especially when we're getting into complex fractions I need to be able to make sure that they're opening closing times at the right time so that is my next professional staff and being able to do but the VA and see if you were working Apex has been like I said a game-changer for me and working with my students we are I personally I know there are so many platforms I personally am using the team's platform and these are just a few things that I learn and using paint this student really needs to accept the invite when it is sent to them so they can access that through a counter like there have been and we've been virtual for weeks and I found out today there are a couple since you're still having trouble because they haven't accepted the invitation and that keeps them from finding and being able to access and coming to class really quickly so that's just kind of an aside a couple of other things I'm using two devices at a time so I do use my iPad and my laptop at the same time I want to be able to use my iPad screen share to ride on to do those things but then I want my laptop so that I can actually see the students in the Grid at the same time saying if they're paying attention I had I'm going to get one of my kids when he gets back I was having a formal duration and I see a student do this the whole time and I keep telling them they're watching television so but I could say that I could keep calling them back but I knew something was going on so I do one of those side text to the parents did you check on your kid I think they're watching television but that that was beneficial that would not have happened had I not been watching them and cuz I think in the beginning I would try to do the work that I didn't see the kids so that using this to devices I will sometimes use a third device which is my phone and it will come through on a different link but I am very fortunate that I have an exceptional educator that can work with a small group I'm working with another group and I can jump over to them rather than putting them in a like rather than putting them in a chat room or something like that I want them on a totally separate link so I can jump over it he text me and said that she needs something but I too May sometimes like I said I even used a third device if needed to do that one other thing that I realize is creating and not changing a calendar link keeping MAC-10 Mystic out early so when we were told that we were going to extend virtual I simply went in and change my date so I didn't have to change that calendar invitation for the student a couple other things for me if a student is using a laptop I allowed I asked him to screen share so that I can see their work I'm okay that I don't say them because if they're producing work as we're going I know they're involved and what it is that we're doing and I can provide that immediate feedback so that has been very beneficial for me to do the screen sharing peace as well I also has students that like me to attach the document and change and then they share it back and change so that's the hard thing about this is there are a dozen students to have a dozen different needs and a dozen different ways to access information there's some of these that apply to one student and that that's what's making this like I said a little bit more challenging cuz every student needs something else this is week one and a couple of you were going to know exactly who I'm talking sing about when when I say this week one again we were told I was quarantined on Wednesday I was out on Thursday and they were told on Thursday we were being virtual as a Friday it again I had nothing so there was at the talking week one we have changed since then but what are the things that I realized about this particular student Braille El struggle with math but can very easily access and reply to email can access Word Documents Steven said things so I ended up that first couple of weeks creating Word documents that he could listen to but they had to be very very descriptive because if not he would not understand they were what I was asking him to do but I realized a couple of tricks if you space between things as it's reading the document to him it will slow down a deposit when you said there will be a chance to first and what it is that I'm trying to say so in something like this where there's a pause between 643 and 2 I wanted him to write those numbers down I need to say 6 and he needed to have a chance Ashley Graham so I realized if I put spaces between things it would actually slow that speech down between those and that was just something and give this is before I thought of well you could just do a audio of it in send it but he likes using his laptop that's something he's really proficient at and I wanted to take time to keep that going for him and then I also made sure and listen to it before I sent it so that I would know what he was hearing on his hand actually made me change the way that I put words in but we're Way Beyond this but in the beginning that's the option I had for the students be able to do that this has been one of my most fun learn in the very beginning I was like I know we're working in Braille but I still deserve it that I still have to give you feedback I still have to know after every problem how you're doing because a couple the Braille readers that I have they have a lot of needs they're still learning and there's a lot of mistakes so in the beginning I will tell you one of my favorite things is that dirty dry eraser from that dry erase board by everyone interboro has access to one they can take that and rub that over their work and it makes the Braille pop so that when they hold it up I'm able to see it on the computer traditionally what I do is a quick they hold it up and when I can get them to set no to the right over the last no up no down back that we have all these things that we do we're good now that I can do a quick screenshot pull it over to another device and actually sit and study at 4 it's brown and set it for the formatting and you can plant this was one of the very first times we did it you seem to stay something already like that but I had to be able to get that feedback because his students going to be able to continue to get do that mistake if I can't get that feedback to them now one of the cool thanks which I'll talk to you a bit more this on the right hand side has been one of my favorite things that I have done it was that we were I knew we were getting ready to have to graph and the students going to have to and I am not and it's an introductory we're just now starting where I was ruling but the student couldn't fight she was having a really hard time on the grass that I gave her fighting the origin and there has to be a way for her to get so we can put start a point some things but what I did was put together the one is grid paper put four pieces together puff paint on it to create the axis with this remote a little bit different actually then I took Wiki sticks and Wild in two little circles so that those became her points that she could grab with and I took an eraser and rubbed it all over the the grass so that it pops but I could see the distinguishing lines between it this has been the best tool and it's fairly large but it's four sheets of paper put together but we're now to the point that she knows exactly where to hold it and how to hold it to be able to do it but and the these are so sticky when she holds it up they sick so she can actually be holding that thing in front of her and it stays put so that that was out of sheer necessity and that is only for her but it works it is route to work beautifully for her again that eraser so this is one of the same students but noticed by this is about the third or fourth track we're now not running down as hard on it after holding our picture a little bit more steady we can't we grown a lot to be able to give that feedback a couple of things so on this one this is just why I was saying it's so important there's so many mistakes that particular problem for that student for formatting had they not shown me their work they would have still continue to make those mistakes so and this student in particular now can take their phone picture and text it to me and I'm able to see it really clearly at this point but another thing we had trouble doing is we're going to probably work on it this is kind of a thought process we're probably going to work on airlines cuz we're having a really hard time too when I say what the why were you subtract it too we can't find subtracted so we're probably going to work on number in our lives for some of these of I'm not ready for that just yet based on the kind of problem but the more complex but there were a lot of mistakes and they  and we can actually go through this student has just a little bit of feasible Vision so I took a snapshot it off it to my laptop blew it up and started riding on it he can actually see what I was riding and how it connected back to his route so we don't discount the fact that the student has some Vision to be able to work with that he is definitely a braille user for all intensive purposes but this was really beneficial for him to see where some mistakes were on some things is the Facebook hack I take zero credit for it I saw someone are there Braille student to be able to take a picture and send their work they use a box cut a hole where they can put their phone in gave them a place looks like paint sticks to be able to clip their work on and it was that perfect distance the only thing here I would do would be take that it over there to make that Braille pop and I saw it again someone's Facebook hack to be able to to take a solid picture and make the soon a little bit more independent the texting my students actually a couple of kids every problem or every other problem they send me their work cuz I need to give them back with a feedback so this is just another student will text me or email me their work and again it's your comfort level if you want them to text you and I'm comfortable with my students having my number so there's the wiki again the first two this isn't the first use how we started notice the lines aren't very straight to the there a little weight but the time we get to that third pick we're pretty confident and we're able to know where to hold it this is one of my favorite comments ever when this worked really well for the student the first time her comment was you sure are rocking your TV I degree stayed after birth like that made me as happy probably as anything that that have happened over the course of the last four years like that you're really rocking it just didn't recognize that that was pretty cool either they found a way to help them to access information so Cyrus really that just made me smile I realize that and you all know that's a lot of our kids that just because I have that doesn't mean I can't promise talk and figure things out for himself so I knew one of these last go-rounds that assumed we were going to be graphing I knew where the content was taking us that we were going to be grabbing and I told the student let me send you home with graph paper so that we can grab and he looked at me and he was like I don't think so I think I'm going to pack sandpaper home and I said well then I need you to figure out how we're going to graph I need you to figure out I had an inkling he probably would he's free text Abby so we were able to within and of course I had guided him on it but he had the basic ideas of it this is just simply dropping it part into Microsoft Word which really is an Excel file but he was able to navigate and create his Graphics by using Excel within word for charts and graphs so within I would say probably 10 to 15 minutes he had figured this out but I realize had I not given him the ability to just say then you figure out for yourself I haven't been working all weekend trying to figure out I cannot work but it was a great tool for him and again it's one kid that this works really really well for and he's able to screen share and we're able to grab really quickly and he's able to make connections that's so much more power trying to ride it on you know the the iPad or something like that so this works really well screen sharing again has been so beneficial me and then students working on the working on their laptops saving it and just file sharing with me that has been tremendous for working for students couple things about the iPad the screen sharing aspect of the iPad I write on those daily I have hundreds of files of notes that I use for my students who are able to do you have your soul Vision are able to say yes I have guided notes that the along with often I access the online textbooks we only got those I would say we've only had on my textbooks for maybe about six weeks but I often will do screenshots all my textbooks pull the man and ride almost so that's been very beneficial for us for me one thing that I had an aha by a student today who is who is colorblind he doesn't see red and a few think about in Geometry parallel lines are shown with red arrows that is totally rocked my world I'm going to have to start thinking about now even though I screen share their other things I'm going to have to chew change on that cuz he's not going to be able to see those arrows on those another piece that I do a lot with the iPad I did not realize how important or how easy it was to do recordings voice memos or recordings are some apps that you can do four things just let them be more independent as a showing examples and talking through things or even today I signed a group or problems to do auditory wanted special but I could simply put it on the same document send it to them it's covered so they able to create those there's a couple apps I'll show you the being able to create this big has been really helpful and we did send iPads home with several of the students even if they have a laptop because it's too difficult to flip back and forth between working on a laptop and then trying to see you on teams and looking at things so they're most versatile laptop also have I passed and we've learned to navigate between both of them and what both of their purposes are the issue with one of the iPads even they need to have science they need to be able to stand up so the kids can see them so we've had to send stands to students as well so that's been pretty that's been pretty important this is just a quick example of a quick screenshot that I can ride on doing if then statements for the kids but then this is another piece if we're using notes we can create we can ride on it but then I can quickly turn it into a Word document send it to Ikeda reference so there are lots of benefits of using such a document this is one of my favorites so my students would have so if this were Braille student and this was partial I was sent them that partial proof on the Apex files that we talked about but this is been really good to just simply screenshare and then I can write in the document as we're doing it and I can this one's pretty simple but we can color code what's going on as well so I can bring those images an to ride on have been pretty important and then this was very recent my students in particular who have revision I have been I've been fortunate to be able to know soon enough or to anticipate that they're going to need paper copies and enlarge copies they so I can get it mailed to them prior to class but if you open up your online textbook and just do a screenshot and drop it into paint you can cut and paste what it is that you need them pulled into I just put it into a PowerPoint an enlarged it cuz it's going to do two sold I'm going to be able to use that PowerPoint to ride on for my presentation for class but I can also then just print it off as a PDF and mail it to my students that way it's large enough for them to be able to see because what's in but is not going to be able to see so we do again a lot of sharing images and pulling up the textbook from you know and using the iPad to be able to ride on that these are the cordings that I was talking about stopping at questions at any time I know I'm kind of running through this but I just want to make sure information the show me app it has been amazing if you do free you can record up to 5 but you were actually able to record yourself in real time so it looks like you're riding on the Whiteboard and talking on the Whiteboard at the same time and then you're able to upload a link and to send that and then I've done voice memos for the it's here just some little basic recordings that I've done I started here with the iPhone and then started moving myself to the different apps like the show me at but I'm also used it for student to teacher I want you to put yourself on me record your response and then send that to me so that I can hear you especially if I have more than one student it's been then that way I can listen to their responses and get their feedback on problems so that has been a good way and they enjoy just record and sending it to me so that has been beneficial as well but I kind of like I said I kind of started to the ride and move left using that show me app the peace with the show me app is if you're using the free version you only get 5 five at a time that you can save and send to people so there have been some I've had to delete to replace with others so I'm going to start looking for other apps that will allow me to and I'll probably have them that will allow me to record myself use it as a whiteboard and send that off but that was the one that was really easy and really quick for the kids to access then you just send them the link and they're able to use it oh okay sorry that was me that actually was like oh there it goes and you can say as you're talkin through it actually will show the work and do it in lifetime so that's been super official as well you can bring an images as well to ride on so I keep going sorry guys it does not it wants you all to know how 2 * two digit numbers okay so here we go next quick thing interactive opportunities so one thing I realized is that if I wanted my students to have Hands-On opportunities in class and there was an equivalent of something like manipulative or something like that online I wanted to try to do have access to both days so for example I was trying we always use braille algebra tiles text to algebra tiles when I'm teaching. It always does which is great I can send this home my students in their very familiar but then there's also the matching virtual manipulatives on illumination from National Council for teachers of mathematics so I realized when I went to do the virtual for some of my students make sure and send the tackle home as well so makes it a little bit harder to do but then busted for able to participate just in different ways I also have used a cup time the dcmp to describe caption that you program for real life examples so if we're teaching a specific scale I want them to listen to this portion of the video and tell me what is an example of when they use percentages in the problem or whatever it is that we happen to be studying so we have I have Incorporated the dcmp some into the lesson for those real life examples and that is accessible to our students as well what amounts to a patient's that that we did I was teaching proof through and though and I sent home no cards with my students but then they also have Interactive components as well so on something like this I'm going to take it off on something like this they can actually move the cards around and that was my point so I did have students who either had cards in their hands or they can have access to the slideshow to be able to move around their cars and then we looked at proof in that matter and they could type in it so it was interactive for my student this one mr. Q put it on with you guys about the same time and that we were talking about this he was like hey this is what I created for one of my students he turn control over to the student and the student is actually able then to drag drag into the specific air characteristics of a quadratic function so again that made it very Interactive or his students so kudos to mister keep it for that a couple of other quick things that I and you all may be more familiar with decimals their Arts umbrella options and some accessibility features on Desmos that are pretty incredible even going into contract for students to have to there's Braille do those labels can be placed on the essay and created as well there are accessibility you can go and accessibility tools for students to be able to learn but the one that I kind of went towards at this point is the geogebra and being able to graph points because we're able to provide that contrasts we can set up scales to certain size the students this is really good for geometry with bacon plot points create wise but things can be different thicknesses and all that so for example for this particular student they created their grass plotted their points and then dropped it back into their assignment to line up with planet with the problem itself to turn in for work so geogebra has been fabulous for us working and you can see if you're the student has access to online textbook and that's what they are that's what we did have a student who I've not done this quite as much as I would like to but showing his student how to say don't have a calculator how do I use Alexa as a tool just to check their work it's a very basic map or using Alexa or using Siri to check if they're doing you don't negative out of negatives or whatever the case may be operation they don't have a catheter with them just getting them to think so hey I could use Alexa or Siri to do something like that that's an important as a lot of our students didn't think about that independently as a tool I don't have a lot in terms of Chesapeake but I know when we were having to do benchmarks I ended up creating some PDS and doing spring chairs with students talking through for assessment that works really well for our students and for our students who were Braille students for those Benchmark we it says we will complete when we return I was able to get through all of those I actually there were some of them we could describe and they were able to solve the problem and some of them we just had to finish it when we returned because it the accessibility that I was able to take some of those benchmarks again in tournament if he dies if you have any kind of scanning software to turn the PDF that's superb we use it all the time one thing that we may need to shift for our school we are using three different platforms which can be very confusing and I'm not sure if all schools are doing that but just making sure we had a lot of tech assistance with students be sure when you have multiple platform just had allowing again that student to merge all those platforms together be able to get onto their calendar or merge the keno use the calendar to merge all those just for a accessibility ease of access I said that's been pretty important for us as well I have I've left there's some links to Virtual learning tips has to literacy California covid-19 all have additional tips as well for virtual instruction and the couple things my real eyes and my next steps the stronger the relationship with a student of parent the easier it was able to find out what that student needed to be sick because in the meeting a parent might pop in and say hey. Speak let me tell you what I found out or a student with that hit our speed this isn't working for me and then also this is not a 7:30 to 3:20 how far am I there was some students when it was assessment time I had to meet with and I'm not saying you have to but you had to meet with us on Sunday to make it work or you had to meet with its 5 in the afternoon to be able to get the kind of one who won that was needed to gather that information it has gotten a lot better I am almost able to keep it to 7:30 to 3:20 now but in the beginning it was impossible I was simply just trying to figure it out moving the word I am very transparent my 80 skills have got to have Improvement I've gotten better but again I'm very fortunate that I have a team that I can reach out to and my students will constantly need that support and accessing materials also my next thing I got to work even harder on making sure they have calculator usage that's online it something I still working towards myself that have gotten stronger over time and when we come second person the few times that we've come back I continue to use that platform during class to screen share and they share their screens with me we don't change that that's one of those tools that I should have been doing this not even just when we were hurt we continue to use online textbooks we continue to use our laptops or iPads and we're building in and this was again November we were building in all that practice for screen sharing an email retrieval on Sunday so we continue to do that when we come back in person so that we don't lose what we've learned and hopefully will get stronger and maybe even see you know where there are holes in things and you need to be familiar with this one student also I just want to send you a joke why can you not get in an argument with a pie because they are irrational so that's when when you get comfortable they like to send you jokes if you need a go ahead and wrap up if you need to get a certificate of attendance Alan will probably drop that link in or I can drop that link into work hat for your survey want to go hang up like that and if you need a closing code as well the closing code is Dracula so the opening code was count and the closing code is Dracula and then there are lots and lots of additional references as well from Duxbury tub Perkins and other ideas as well so stop sharing and see if you have any questions on anything I know it's a lot of information begin this is simply what I were and my time with my kids over these last 3 months what wild people might be thinking that's a person's you think I'm in the in the chat place where you I think you can share file would you mind sharing your PowerPoint right there for everybody the answer is Maybe call those links in you know the names of the others calculator and graphing Solutions that's just fantastic Mayo there style I see it now any any questions or anything that I mean I am happy to say hey I'm doing this and you could if you tried this. I would love to hear from you or or even Forever on here you know if you're having any specific challenges with some aspect of teaching math or maybe even something related to just virtual instruction you'll feel free to 2 you know that up one of us here might have some insight we got two of our top notch Math teachers from TSP in the house so please feel free it's uploading now cool I got to say I thought that whiteboard eraser or the dry erase erase dry erase marker eraser that's just that was a brilliant contrast so that it could be captured with your screenshot that's just I love that the lowest Aztec but just that's that's next level this is the Eraser and can't find it and send it to your house right right on the head the lowest attack but it's just so helpful. Minutes is it's truly brilliant so you know I'm thankful for Doctor Parson has learned something from her regarding that so that that that's perfect cuz I was using a highlighter previously but you know that hot that that high yellow with with the white first you have to wait bro paper I'm it just cost so much Vision trouble to myself so using that dirty of the dry erase erasers was was was amazing so I don't kudos to you for that I probably took it from somebody I don't doubt that that was original but that that definitely works my favorite I will tell you my favorites have been the Apex and being able to get the kids their work and the the graph board that tackle graph for to be able to hold up because that will be something I will use in here because the other kids have left for the holding those little pins and things like that Wiki stick and just whining it up and making a bigger. With it that was a game-changer because they say and it stays when they hold up their graphic so those are probably two of my to my biggest pizzas and then the GOG mess of things I'll keep that one so so for the dragon drop I'm at PowerPoint was that a document that you would send to the student and then it it opens it and Screen chairs with you so yes I can do that you just gave them will you talk about what you did with yours that was different repeat the question somebody ring the doorbell I'm sorry Gibson laptop to the students through Microsoft teams out I've used it so I just created a I saw something from a resource from the algebra 2 textbook and just put it in PowerPoint and just gave gave my student ID no control to the present and you know is very interactive they were still able to you know Dragon drop the difference for the different parts of the quadratic function in Ashton was all the way in choir so I was just even amazed that you know we could even still do something for interactive remotely so that one particular I did I did get to both of them to be interacting with the kids I had two students doing the same thing so that they both could be interactive so that they did get access both of them to get access that file I just have one student that is Auto Reader and that I wanted to do some drag and drop with him but didn't know how to make it work so that he could open the file himself and share screen so I don't know I'm a try doing well keep it did if you want like I said get in touch with one of us and we can do on it let us play with you if you want to yeah perfect absolutely Heather and Kim or Miss Anita any feedback that you guys have got to think that's working for you that you might want to messages to smaller group I've already like the dry erase marker eraser thing I do the word thing to I knew that trick so that is very helpful I didn't have any dirty dry erasers those I actually bought clean ones and traded my colleagues cuz I work in a high school building so the Facebook Pasta getting getting mine Braille reader to take pictures of stuff for me has been a struggle that's a nice way to put it on making that box tomorrow but I was so excited when you put that picture up can't even say I cannot even tell you and I'm sure that was off I guess it's some one of the you know the usual and Fair website open bad about that for my students right now I don't have that but I have gotten them at least to be able like I said to hold it up and steady enough for me to be able to do that screenshot myself to be able to look at it yeah that's what that's what we do and I'm like to the left no just an inch no back to the race so well and I've been even just trying to train Hercule how to get her legs all her teachers want her to turn her camera on to participate in class and she's like it's like her forehead on screen so just the training to get her to get her face on a screen it has been a trial well and my favorite is I do have a student most of my kids are not hesitant very much to be on camera they want you to see them whether they can see you or not mind I won 4 to go stood at about 18 times can you take a nap can you see me now can you see me now and then we're over here over here no I can't stay put I love them but she wants to make sure she can be safe so I just I love it that's awesome so Miss Anita I hope that like I said you got some things that you were able to take away I appreciate that and I'll help and I'm learning this I will help Adam help we will help any way that we can and if you have ideas to Rachel Rachel is a graduate of Vanderbilt has come back to take on the program at as well as of the Tennessee School for the Blind and I think this is a really promising exciting time in the state because of the the collective we pooled our resources and you know braintrust that's coming together to ensure that all visual Vision Professionals in the state you know can can you fully informed comings and goings in the new developments in in the field and collectively your work through some of the harder harder issues that we're facing these days and so please be on the lookout for more information about that D on the flyer that I just uploaded and it's in the chat section contains information about that and we do have on that inaugural meeting is coming up on a later this month and January 29th is a Friday at 12:30 and so you know please consider joining us for that and otherwise besides besides that we're so thankful you guys were here I'm going to finish the record
