Volunteering at Tennessee School for the Blind

The Tennessee School for the Blind (TSB) offers limited, structured volunteer opportunities that align with the needs of our students, staff, and school community.

We are grateful for the interest and support from our community. At this time, volunteer placements are offered on an as-needed basis and are coordinated in partnership with school staff.

What to Expect

TSB Volunteer opportunities at TSB are:

  • Purpose-driven and aligned with identified school needs
  • Staff-directed and supervised at all times
  • Limited in availability and scope

Submitting an interest form does not guarantee placement. Our team will follow up if a suitable opportunity is available.

Volunteer Requirements

To ensure a safe and supportive environment for our students, all volunteers must complete an approval process prior to placement, which includes:

  • Criminal history background check
  • Fingerprinting
  • Required documentation and disclosures
  • Confirmation of age (18+)

All volunteers serve under the direction of TSB staff and are expected to follow school policies and maintain confidentiality at all times.

Who Should Apply

We welcome interest from individuals and organizations who:

  • Are flexible and open to structured roles
  • Understand that opportunities are limited
  • Are committed to supporting, not leading, student activities
